A Strong Finish to ComEd Construct 2021!

Olenick recently completed another year participating in ComEd’s Construct Training Program: the 11-week program offers preparation and guidance necessary to compete for well-paying entry-level positions in fields of construction, engineering, and related industries.

By working collaboratively with community agencies in the Chicagoland area, ComEd and partnering companies provided hands-on training to strengthen job readiness and life skills for participants.

As a partnering company, Olenick supported Track 2 of the program which was tailored to individuals looking to apply for entry-level back-office positions. Over the course of three months, 18 Olenick practitioners devoted many working hours to curriculum development, logistics and planning, instruction and facilitation of Construct hosted events.

Olenick’s online instruction provided an in-depth look at the Microsoft Office Suite of applications and was paired with plenty of hands-on training exercises. Also included in our curriculum were modules on social media best practices, business written communication, and our Agile workshop.

A special thank you to James Barrett, Howard Shidlowsky, Mackenzie Dorgan, Bhadresh Mistry, Pat O’Donnell, Virginia Olenick, Merve Ozkan, Paul Patterson, Erica Simmons, and Tony Troup, who took the time to help make this year our best yet. We’re proud to have been a part of the 2021 cohort’s journey and are looking forward to crossing professional paths with them in the future. Until then, we’re looking forward to working with the class of 2022!
