Celebrating Black History Month 2021

Black History Month at Olenick

Olenick is pleased this February to join in celebration of Black History Month, and to take the opportunity to celebrate and expand awareness of African-American accomplishments, milestones, and contributions to our nation’s history.

The theme of 2021’s Black History Month is The Black Family: Representation, Identity and Diversity (learn more at Association for the Study of African American Life and History) – and (since in-person events are hard to come by these days), asalh.org has a schedule of Virtual Festival Events over the course of the month. There are some excellent events in the schedule – such as a Zoom event with panel discussion around this year’s theme on 2/7 at 4pm EST: How African American Families Have Been Portrayed in the Media (Event Link HERE.)

Today’s virtual event is from 6-7pm EST: The Announcement of the Black History Month Theme, and the Introduction of ASALH’s Virtual Black History Month Festival. Click HERE to watch the event live at 6pm EST on ASALH TV.
