Every quarter, TJ Johnson’s column Asking the Right Questions in ILTA’s Peer to Peer Magazine focuses on different topics pertaining to legal technology and how to effectively “Ask the Right Questions”.

“Budgeting for technology is a big responsibility and shouldn’t be taken lightly. You will be more successful this year if you start by asking yourself what’s changed over the past seven months and ask what are the new priorities for your firm?”

For the Fall issue, TJ writes about starting your 2021 Technology budget in her article, “Tired of 2020? The Cure is to Start your 2021 Budgeting!!”Where do you start after a year like 2020? TJ explores the lessons learned during these unprecedented times, as well as addresses the questions and discussion areas needed in your 2021 budget preparation.

“The best advice at this point is to be agile in your approach.”

TJ explores areas of budgeting that might not have been thought of before 2020. She also includes findings from the highly anticipated ILTA Tech Survey (debuting in the Fall) and suggests other considerations such as: office space, technology projects, workflow changes, and automation projects.
