{IT Project Manager} "Olenick was brought in as our preferred vendor to support the setup and analysis of the Virtualization Proof of Concept (POC) for our organization. Olenick's experience with Virtualization technology and track record of success were key factors in selecting them as our partner.
The POC was conducted to determine the viability, benefits, and associated cost estimates of using Virtualization technology from both Microsoft and VMWare for a mission critical application currently in production. Our business needs drove the requirement for a more scalable and robust solution than is currently implemented.
The goals of the Virtualization POC were to validate the feasibility of using virtualization technology on our application, identify optimal hardware and software configuration for production use, and to establish a budget for the project. The Olenick team delivered an outstanding and complete analysis. They took the lead in configuring, running and analyzing 22 virtual machines against 20 data sets over 13 test runs each on an IBM Blade Center configuration utilizing both AMD and INTEL blade servers. They undertook this effort in a very thorough and detailed manner, allowing our own team members the benefit of being trained in the virtualization techniques at the same time.
The resulting analysis and reports generated by Olenick allowed our senior management team to make an educated decision to consolidate the current production environment by utilizing virtualization technology. This will fulfill our business team’s near and long term growth requirements, allowing both Information Technology and our business to respond to requests and changes much more rapidly."
