04/2009 - Olenick & Associates attending and presenting at the QUEST 2009 conference
Olenick & Associates will attend the Quality Engineered Software and Testing (QUEST) Conference which will be held from April 20, 2009 to April 24, 2009 at the The Westin Lombard Yorktown Center located at 70 Yorktown Center, Lombard, Illinois 60148.
Olenick will have a booth at the conference and will participate in a Solutions Benchmarking Session presented by Chris Kaufman. The session will be based on a Case Study entitled: Open-Source Unit Test Tools in Functional Testing. In this case study presentation, Chris will explain how open source unit test tools were used to build an automated functional/regression test suite for an equities clearing system.

Olenick & Associates Senior Associate Denise Copening appears in the April issue of Quality Assurance Institute Journal with her piece entitled Commentary on Rising Elephant. Ms. Copening reviews the book Rising Elephant by Ashutosh Sheshabalaya and contrasts some of this author’s conclusions regarding the role and impact of IT outsourcing with points raised on the same subject by Ed Yourdon in an earlier issue of the same publication.
Denise Copening is a certified Project Management Professional. She has an MBA degree from the University of Colorado and is a member of Beta Gamma Sigma. With twenty-five years’ experience in IT and twelve years of Quality Assurance experience, she has facilitated JAD sessions, focus groups, designed and conducted educational programs, and developed Quality Assurance strategies, methodologies, and business and QA processes. She has held systems and business analysis and project leadership positions in the automotive, insurance, industrial and office product distribution, marketing intelligence and financial services and trading industries. Denise has previously been a speaker at a QAI Conferences and the PSQT Conference. She currently is an Senior Associate with Olenick & Associates in Chicago.

HP Software Universe
2007 was a chance to focus on what matters most to
businesses. Key concerns such as ITSM or SOA, business
alignment or quality management, IT governance or
regulatory compliance.
IT professionals from
some of HP's largest customers, industry gurus and
HP technical experts delivered more than 240 track
sessions on hot topics such as ITSM, quality management,
network management and business service management.
No matter the IT challenges there was a session that
gave you insight and clarity into the issues you
face daily.
Roundtable sessions
explored best practices and methodologies that companies
can use immediately to optimize business outcomes.
These were moderated by HP experts, and fell into
three categories:
